The Economic Counselor Mr. Abdallah Omar Absieh had meeting on Wednesday 15th February 2017 in the Embassy with Mr. Aysa Miller Director for African Affairs Office of the Us Trade Representative.
The discussion has generally focused on improving the business climate and how to facilitate the investment of US companies in Djibouti and in particular to increase trade flows between the two countries. Mr Miller pledged to work with Djibouti to help attract US investments in the priority area such as energy, infrastructure and Tourism.
In addition, the US Congress adopted the Djibouti First Act in 2015, which consists of giving priority to Djibouti companies for the supply of goods and services of US troops stationed in Djibouti , and on this point Mr Miller reiterated the US commitments to support The development of the Djiboutian economy through the private sector .
