between Djiboutian businesses and American investors from May 28 to 30, 2025.

From May 28 to 30, 2025, the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce, under the leadership of Mr. Youssouf Moussa Dawaleh, hosted a high-level business forum in Djibouti, bringing together American investors and Djiboutian entrepreneurs. The goal of this event was to strengthen economic partnerships between Djibouti and the United States and to establish a favorable environment for sustainable commercial exchanges.

This initiative was made possible through close collaboration between the diplomatic representations of both countries—the Embassy of Djibouti in Washington and the U.S. Embassy in Djibouti—and was supported by the Djiboutian Minister of Commerce and the State Secretary for Investments.

During their visit, the American investor delegation toured several of Djibouti’s well-developed port infrastructures, underscoring the country’s strategic advantage in maritime logistics. The delegation was welcomed at Red Sea World by Chairman Aboubaker Hadi, representing the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority.

Additionally, the investors explored Djibouti’s growing digital infrastructure, including the submarine cable landing stations, where 12 international fiber-optic cables connect Djibouti to the global digital network—solidifying its position as a regional tech hub.

This first-of-its-kind initiative marks a significant milestone in the development of bilateral economic relations. It also reflects Djibouti’s growing commitment to attracting international investment, highlighting the country’s strengths, including its political stability, modern port infrastructure, and strategic location at the crossroads of global maritime routes, particularly in the Bab El-Mandeb Strait.
